About

Ania Switzer was born in Upper Silesia, at that time in communist Poland. She received education at universities in Poland and United Kingdom. Ania worked at Jagiellonian University in Poland, Leo Baeck Institute London, UK, and the Shoah Foundation Institute for Visual History and Education at the University of Southern California, before moving to Vancouver in 2013. She has also worked as a translator and interpreter, mainly in the field of Jewish studies and Holocaust education.


Teaching


Research

In addition to interest in sociology, Ania has combined an interest in cultural anthropology with issues in contemporary Jewish history and nationalism in modern Eastern and Central Europe.
