 NES Department Head\, Dr. Katherine Bowers\, will be speaking at the North 
 American Dostoevsky Society virtual speaker series.</h3><p>The North Americ
 an Dostoevsky Society held a virtual speaker series to celebrate Dostoevsky
 ’s bicentennial in 2021. The series included talks throughout 2020-21 and 2
 021-22 organized by or featuring North American Dostoevsky Society members.
  Given the success of the series and the ease of gathering on Zoom to liste
 n to and discuss Dostoevsky scholarship\, the society plans to continue it 
 in the future.</p><p>Dr. Katherine Bowers's talk “Writing Fear: Physiologic
 al Petersburg\, Dostoevsky\, and the Rise of Gothic Realism” is virtual\, a
 nd UBC students\, faculty and staff are welcome to attend. More information
