You are cordially invited to join us for the next meeting of The CENES Salon, an informal gathering of UBC staff, faculty, students, and community members that centres on intellectual exchange and fostering community.
The main focus of this event will be on Yiddish translation. Members of the Vancouver School of Yiddish Translators—including Faith Jones, Seymour Levitan, Helen Mintz, and Rachel Mines—are visiting. We’ll listen to short readings from their work and then discuss into the evening! Come get inspired by Yiddish literature in translation and by the people who make it! The translators will have copies of their work for cash purchase.
The CENES Salon is meant to be fun, casual and collaborative – a space to learn from and with each other. You do not need to know anything about the topics to participate.
