Dr. Leesing Publishes in Crossings on Night Spaces in Postmigrant Literature



The special issue of Crossings: Journal of Migration and Culture revolves around “Night Stories” and focuses on nocturnal spaces in urban contexts. Dr. Dorothee Leesing‘s article looks at the importance of the night sky as applied by the author Karosh Taha in the novel Beschreibung einer Krabbenwandeurng (“Portrait of a wandering crab”). Dr. Leesing, a sessional lecturer in the Department of Central, Eastern and Northern European Studies, talks about how the balcony in the racialized space of the European high-rise is a liminal space in which qualities of the inside and outside influence the protagonists.
