Message from the CENES Head: Congratulations to our graduating students

Čestitam! Herzlichen Glückwunsch! Congratulations!

The faculty and staff of the UBC Department of Central, Eastern and Northern European Studies (CENES) are proud of you, our student colleagues, for reaching this important stage in your ongoing intellectual pursuits in our programs!

As a community, we in CENES aim to prepare students for multilingual futures through rigorous coursework and co-curricular initiatives combining a focus on language learning and cultural analysis. Our courses, co-curricular programs, community engagement opportunities, and study abroad partnerships are all devised to serve this aim.

As emerging scholars with a robust intellectual preparation in language and culture studies, we hope you will continue to draw on the intellectual training you received in our programs as you shape your communities and prepare for ongoing academic or professional paths in the future.

Your CENES mentors are mentors for life. Moreover, as alumni you will always have a home in CENES. We invite you to stay in touch, come visit when you are around, and attend our public-facing events in the future.
