In May 2024 a group of UBC undergraduate students participated in the Go Global “Witnessing Auschwitz and Experiencing Eastern Europe” seminar, and are getting ready to present their findings this fall as they organize the 2024 Witnessing Auschwitz Conference.
In addition to the seminar students presenting their research findings, the conference will include panel discussions and a range of presentations from UBC faculty and guests. The keynote speakers are Dr. Piotr Setkiewicz, Head of the Research Department at the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum (10am), and Rabbi Jonathan Infeld (1pm).
This event is co-sponsored by the Faculty of Arts Research Abroad Grant, UBC Go Global, Polish Consulate in Vancouver, UBC Diamond Chair in Jewish Law and Ethics, the UBC Jewish Minor Program and Anonymous Donors.

The conference will be held in the Dodson room in IKBLC from 9:00am – 4:00pm on September 23, 2024.
