TIME
6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

The German Consulate General in Vancouver and the Survivor-Centred Visual Narratives Project are delighted to host German illustrator and comics artist Tobi Dahmen for a discussion and reading of his latest graphic novel Columbusstrasse: Eine Familiengeschichte 1935-1945 (2024).

Join us for an evening with Tobi Dahmen as he presents his latest graphic novel, Columbusstrasse: Eine Familiengeschichte 1935-1945 (2024). Based on old family letters discovered after his father’s death, this family saga from World War II uses moving accounts to reconstruct the German war years, reflecting on the nation’s past and exploring political and personal responsibility.

During the event, Dahmen will discuss the inspiration and process behind the book, read selected passages, and present the illustrations.

There will be a light reception at the event.
