Join us in celebrating the artwork created for the “EUA Graphics” Project at the BC Children’s Hospital!
“Exams Under Anaesthesia (EUA) Graphics: Equity and Neurodiversity in the Operating Room” is a collaboration between Dr. Anamaria Richardson and the UBC Comics Studies Cluster led by Elizabeth Nijdam that invited nine cartoonists to create nine short comics based on interviews with the parents of neurodiverse children. These documents recounted the difficult experiences of parents and caregivers of neurodiverse children who undergo sedation at BCCH.
The “EUA Graphics” Project sought to investigate comics and graphic art as a method of thematic analysis of scientific results.
The artwork and statements from the artists will be available for viewing throughout the day in the Chan Centre and is also on display digitally on the UBC Comics Studies Cluster’s website.
