On Monday, July 17th, we are very fortunate to host a special event with Rüdiger von Fritsch who will share his unique insight into Russia’s current war on Ukraine, from the occupation of Crimea in 2014 to the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022 and recent developments.
Von Fritsch was appointed Germany’s ambassador to Russia in 2014 and served in that role until his retirement in 2019. In recent years, he has published a memoir detailing his time as ambassador (Russlands Weg. Als Botschafter in Moskau, 2020) and analyzing the international fallout of Russia’s full-scale invasion (Zeitenwende. Putins Krieg und die Folgen, 2022). The event will be conducted in English.
The event has an updated venue, and will take place from 5:00-6:30pm in the The Liu Institute for Global Issues, located at 6476 NW Marine Drive, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z2
If you would like to join us for the conversation with Rüdiger von Fritsch, you can reserve a spot and find all details on the registration page.
