Though the academic year is currently coming to a close, the Russian war in Ukraine is not. Throughout the summer months, we in UBC’s Department of Central, Eastern, and Northern European Studies (CENES) will continue to focus on the experience of people of (and in) Ukraine. We will maintain solidarity with them until Ukraine triumphs over its unprovoked invaders.
Each month, around the day of the unprovoked Russian invasion on February 24 of this year, we will invite new speakers and guests who will contribute their unique insights and perspectives, helping us to keep our consciousness focused on the Ukrainian people, their bravery, their national spirit, as well as cultural and social changes occurring in Ukraine.
Please join us and register for our first event in the CENES series “Ukraine: a Spotlight on the Culture of Change and Resistance” on Monday, April 25, from 10am-11:30am Pacific time via Zoom: https://ubc.zoom.us/meeting/register/u5Asc-mtrDsqE9Jjrg4TRTUdBqZquUC9Cq2J
