CENES PhD student Shoshana Schwebel will be giving a talk titled “Smiling in the Face of Danger: Reconsidering Lulu in Die Büchse der Pandora (1929)” as part of a virtual seminar organized by the Weimar Film Network.
On September 27th, Shoshana Schwebel will be joined by Dr. Lawrence Alexander, who will also be presenting a talk titled “Kentridge, Berg, Pabst: Intermedial Perspectives Between Expressionism and New Objectivity.” Shoshana’s talk is based on her recent German Quarterly article, “Lulu’s Smile: An Archive of Trauma in Die Büchse der Pandora (1929).”
