Dr. Skyler Arndt-Briggs, “Shifting Walls, Shifting Paradigms”
Dr. Arndt-Briggs is the Executive Director of the DEFA Film Library and teaches in the German and Scandinavian Studies program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She has written on the American reception of East German cinema, on the role of the uprising of June 17, 1953 in GDR filmmaking, and the films of director Iris Gusner. Publications include the co-edited volume DEFA International and a forthcoming book series on Film and the Global Cold War (Berghahn Books).
