CENES co-hosts Intercultural Learning in Language Teaching Workshop
On December 4 at 12 pm, the Intercultural Learning in Language Teaching Workshop will guide participants through an discussion of key concepts and definitions with a focus on the role of stereotypes and notions of cultural grouping, belonging and identity.
“A Queer Century” exhibit, co-curated by Dr. Frackman, travels to UBC Okanagan
“A Queer Century, 1869–1969,” a rare books exhibition co-curated by Dr. Kyle Frackman and Dr. Gregory Mackie (English) and originally displayed in UBC’s Rare Books & Special Collections (June–September 2019), has now travelled to Special Collections at the UBC Okanagan Library, where it will be on display through the end of December 2019.

Dr. Frackman presents at Holocaust Studies conference in Munich
On November 6, 2019, Dr. Kyle Frackman presented at a special iteration of the regular biennial Lessons & Legacies Conference in Munich. Dr. Frackman’s paper, “Unruly and Inconvenient Memory: The Political and Cultural Challenge of Postwar Socialist Homosexuality,” was on a panel on “Homosexuals during the Holocaust and its Aftermath.”
