CENES Instructor Helps Organize Food Donations for Ukraine

Dariya (Dasha) Prykhodko, an instructor/lecturer who teaches Russian in the Department of Central, Eastern and Northern European Studies (CENES), grew up in Lviv, Ukraine, and has stayed in contact with her classmates there over the decades. Today, those classmates have organized a large-scale food-making effort for internally displaced people fleeing the Russian invasion and for those fighting to defend their country. Over 80 volunteers are making nourishing food — including, of course, lots of pirohy — funded by international donations of support. A CENES student, Alexandr Kim, is collecting donations for this important effort at alex.taehwankim@gmail.com.

You can hear Dasha narrate the story in this video presentation here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cisNHJtcTiBg4Qx7hUa_6mMXofe9Al6e/view?usp=sharing
