Drs. Bowers and Malakaj are travelling this week to Japan to present their research as part of the Hokkaido University Research Exchange Program with UBC. They will speak in Sapporo on Tuesday and Tokyo on Friday. The symposia were organized by Dr. Daisuke Adachi of the Slavic Research Centre at Hokkaido University and are on the topic of “emotion”: the problem of emotion (Sapporo) and emotion in 19th-century literature from Russia, Germany, and Japan (Tokyo).
