Dr. Bowers gives talks in Ohio and Illinois



On April 19, Dr. Bowers gave a lecture for the Department of German and Russian Studies at the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, about the @RodionTweets project entitled “Adventures in Twitterature: Translating Dostoevsky into 140 Characters or Less.”
On April 23, Dr. Bowers gave a lecture for the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, called “Terrible, Mysterious, and Fantastic Stories: Gothic Frames in Realist Fiction.” Dr. Bowers was in residence at the University of Illinois April 19-24 for the Russian, East European, and Eurasian Center’s Open Research Lab. Her ORL research project is called “Gothic Migrations: A Case Study of Early Nineteenth-Century Reader Reception in Russia.”
