On November 9, 2020, Dr. Kyle Frackman presented “Parallel Worlds: The Legacies of East Germany’s Coming Out” virtually at the University of North Texas. The event was sponsored by the German Embassy to the United States as part of its Campus Weeks program. Dr. Frackman spoke about the East German film Coming Out (1989), German unification, and the legacies of both, including challenges faced by Germany today. Coming Out will appear in a new restored version released by the DEFA Film Library on a DVD curated by Dr. Frackman.
