The Department of Central, Eastern and Northern European Studies is thrilled to announce that last week the UBC Vancouver President approved the promotion and tenure of our dear colleague and German Studies Undergraduate Director Dr. Ervin Malakaj.
A scholar of queer and trans media studies, German literature and diaspora studies, Dr. Malakaj is also the co-founder of the Diversity, Decolonization and the German Curriculum collective, which since 2017 has been transforming the field of German Studies internationally.
