Dr. Ervin Malakaj, associate professor of UBC German studies, received a SSHRC Insight Development Grant.
This grant will be used to fund his next book project: Divinatory Cultural Techniques: Queer Media Engagement, 1900-1933. The project examines the rise of occult media practice around 1900 and uses it as a site at which to develop a theory of queer media engagement. The funding will support student research assistants as well as archival research trips as well as preliminary knowledge mobilization activities.
