Dr. Olga Rosenblum (Departments of Philology and History, Russian State University for the Humanities, Moscow) is visiting UBC from April 7-12, and will give two talks. The CENES Department is co-sponsoring Dr. Rosenblum’s visit along with the UBC Eurasian States and Societies: Past and Present lecture series at Green College and the Liu Institute for Global Issues.
First, on Friday, April 8 Dr. Rosenblum will present “Functions of NGOs in Contemporary Russia: The Case of the Civic Assistance Committee,” 12-1, in the Research Room, 1st floor, Liu Institute for Global Issues.
Then on Monday, April 11 Dr. Rosenblum will present “Intelligentsia and Intellectuals, Community and Individuals: The Defence in the Joseph Brodsky Affair and After“, 5pm at the Green College Coach House. The talk will be followed by a reception.
