Bauhaus University, a respected research university located in Weimar, Germany, is offering a paid internship as part of the EU Erasmus + Program for UBC undergraduate or graduate students.
Key Facts
- The internship would entail work at one of the central cultural institutions in Germany: the Goethe and Schiller Archive (Klassik Stiftung Weimar). Students would work as digital editorial interns on various digitization projects at the archive under the direction of Prof. Dr. Jörg Paulus.
- The internship is for three months, is residential, and would offer students an excellent opportunity to expand their studies with an exciting professional opportunity.
- You would receive training, extensive supervision, and will also have access to various cultural institutions operated by the Klassik-Stiftung Weimar, such as Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek, Goethe-Nationalmuseum, the Bauhaus-Museum, Nietzsche-Archiv, and Franz Liszt-Haus.
- The finalist will receive a 850 Euro monthly stipend (x 2 or 3 months, depending on your availability) and would receive a one-time payment of 1,500 Euro to cover travel expenses. The total funding for this internship is up to 4,050 Euro.
- Students will make their own housing arrangements (some assistance will be in place for this)
- The internship dates: a minimum of two and maximum of three months in the period of April 3 – July 1, 2023.
Eligibility
- Strong demonstrated interest in German language and culture studies (e.g., German courses taken at UBC would be an asset).
- Minimum German language requirement: B1 (more information here).
- UBC Faculty of Arts undergraduate or graduate students.
- Minimum 70% cumulative average.
- Minimum 70% average in Term 1 of 21W.
- Registered in full-time studies in Term 1 and Term 2 of the W2022.
