We are proud to announce that CENES UBC Professor Emerita Marketa Goetz-Stankiewicz has been awarded the 2016 Jiří Theiner Award for her contribution to the dissemination and promotion of Czech literature abroad! Her research is on Czech samizdat, and she also works on Czech drama by playwrights including Kohout, Topol, Klíma, and Havel. Dr. Goetz-Stankiewicz will receive the award at Book World Prague in May.
