UBC students at all levels of their language learning journey are invited to apply for a summer study abroad program at Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany.
You will be able to take a language and culture studies course appropriate for your level, and can transfer those courses back to UBC. Take the courses as part of your language requirement, an elective, or as courses required toward any of the German degree programs at UBC (major, honours, one of the two minors).

4 ECTS Language Course + 2 ECTS Culture Studies Module = equivalent of 3 Credit Hours
Cost Breakdown
- Language Course: €710
- Culture Studies Module: €190
- Housing in Student Dorms: €290-350 (depending on size of housing)
- UBC Go Global Fee: CA$ 415
- Flight to Germany: fluctuates
What’s Included in the Fees?
- Course and all the materials required for it (i.e., textbooks).
- Lunches on course days (Mon-Fri)
- Orientation and advising on site with access to all the programming offered through the international office of the Bauhaus University. Includes welcome package and Bauhaus Uni Summer School ID card.
- Public Transport Pass: this allows you unlimited bus rides in Weimar and on regional trans.
- Certificate of participation upon successful completion of course + transfer credit.
- Internet access throughout the Bauhaus University buildings.
- University library access.
- Excursions and cultural programming scheduled for the summer school.
- Free entry in all the museums as part of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar (e.g., Goethe Museum, Nietzsche Archive, Anna Amalia Library)
- Welcome dinner/BBQ
