Winter 2020 Course: GERM 426 (German Representations of the Holocaust)

In GERM 426, students will read, view, evaluate and discuss memoirs, prose works, poems, essays, graphic novels, perpetrator documents, survivor testimony and documentaries that portray the Holocaust. The focus will be on the victims and the bystanders: the Jewish people as well as some of the under-studied and lesser known other victims of the Holocaust (e.g., gay men and women, victims of Nazi euthanasia, Afro-Germans). Taught in translation. No knowledge of German required.

Taught by Dr. Uma Kumar, the class will meet virtually on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm in Term 2. Register for GERM 426 today!
