Winter 2020 Course: RUSS 321A (Imagining Location in Russian Literature)



Focusing on the Russian imperial capital St. Petersburg, this course will explore the city’s history through its rich literary and artistic heritage. Students will study the city from its 18th-century beginnings to the present through historical documents, literary texts, films, music, visual art and maps. Readings will include texts by Pushkin, Gogol, Dostoevsky, Akhmatova, and others.

Taught by Dr. Katherine Bowers, the class will meet virtually on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm in Term 1. Register for RUSS 321A today!
