About
Minyan Wang (Mia) is a PhD candidate in media studies at Zhejiang University. Her MA project at Fudan University focused on media archaeology as topos. Prior to that, her research interests were centered on film semiotics.
Research
Mia’s current interests lie in media theory, media history, and the philosophy of technology. Her PhD project focuses on the discourse surrounding media in 1964, examining how technological, social and cultural transformations shaped the understanding and evolution of media. She is currently spending a year at UBC as a Visiting International Research Student from October 2024 to October 2025.
