The Polish Language Program offers courses that focus on acquisition of the Polish language through interactive practice of reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

By learning a foreign language we expand our world. We learn new words and idioms, but also to see the world in a different way. The Polish Language Program uses advanced learning materials, resources, and methods to help students find their path to second language acquisition through self-expression in a class environment.

Literature courses introduce students to a very rich Polish literary and cultural tradition. It also provides an interesting introduction to one of the largest European countries with a long and complicated history. Polish is spoken by nearly 40 million people worldwide, and Polish writers of the 20th century were awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1980, 1996 and 2018.

Our courses are designed to welcome students from a variety of backgrounds with a wide range of interests. In addition to courses devoted to Polish literature and film (POLS), masterpieces of Polish literature are included in the Slavic literature course.
