In January 2024, the Department of Central, Eastern and Northern European Studies signed a cooperation agreement with The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange.
It is worth noting that the grant secured by Prof. Bożena Karwowska in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Vancouver and David Gramling, was obtained competitively.
“The Agency shall grant a scholarship (or scholarships) for the implementation of a language course programme for a lecturer (or lecturers), and the Centre shall host the lecturer (or lecturers) who will perform academic and educational duties starting with the academic year 2024-25.”
A new lecturer in Polish will add to the decolonization of the CENES Slavic program.
