The German Studies programs at the University of British Columbia, University of Victoria, and University of Washington Seattle are teaming up to host the inaugural German Studies Undergraduate Research Showcase (#GSURS2022) on April 2-3, 2022, via Zoom. Each student will have a chance to present their project during a 5–7-minute presentation, which will be followed by a 5-minute discussion. In this dynamic venue, you will engage in stimulating conversations and have a relaxed platform to receive constructive feedback on your work. In addition to presentations, we will also host talks on timely topics by diverse faculty from our three universities.
We aim to be as inclusive as possible and are thus open to feature student projects relating to any aspect of German Studies. You might have a project you completed for a class that you are particularly excited about. This project could be in the form of a term paper, presentation, or creative project (e.g., graphic novel, short video essay, narrative film, etc.). Or you might have an idea you would like to develop into a presentation. Whatever your interest, topic, format, or discipline, we would love to hear about it!
#GSURS2022 is a great way to showcase your amazing work, get feedback from peers and faculty, and add academic experience to your CV or portfolio! Your submission will also be considered for publication in the inaugural issue of Augenblick, a German Studies Undergraduate Research Journal.
