Dr. Geoffrey Winthrop-Young has published a German paper on the role of computer-assisted paleontology in the Steampunk classic The Difference Engine by William Gibson and Bruce Sterling.
The paper, titled “Das wunderbare Rechnen zum Tode. Paläontologische Kontingenzen, Konvergenzen und Katastrophen in The Difference Engine,” is part of a collection published in honour of media theorist Bernhard J. Dotzler.
