Dr. Geoffrey Winthrop-Young has published a translation of Friedrich Kittler’s essay “Wagner’s Furious Host,” as well a companion piece entitled “Furious Feedback and the Revolutionary Ode to Noise” (Cultural Politics 18.3: 275-286).
The essay deals with Richard Wagner’s idea of feedback as a means to bring about the ultimate revolution which, as in Wagner’s Ring of the Nibelung, burns and destroys an entire world including its gods.
