CENES Sawchen and Ziegler lectures are free to attend and open to the public and all members of the UBC community, including students, faculty, and staff. There will be both in-person and virtual events. Unless otherwise noted, the recording of each online lecture will be made available on cIRcle after the live virtual event. Students, faculty and staff are all welcome to attend.

What is the CENES Lecture Series?

The Sawchen and Ziegler Lecture series occurs every year, and allows CENES to invite speakers to talk about scholarship within Germanic and Slavic studies. This year, CENES has introduced the theme of ‘dissent’ for both of the Sawchen and Ziegler series.
