The CENES Graduate Student Conference on “Disruptive Materialities” is currently accepting submissions for the 2020 conference. Click here to view the call for papers. Please send an abstract (no more than 250 words) to patricia.milewski@ubc.ca by December 15, 2019.
The conference will be held on February 6-7, 2020, beginning with a keynote by Dr. Liam Young on “Salt: Fragments from the History of a Medium.” The following day, conference presentations will take place in panel format. Refreshments and a hot lunch will be provided.
This graduate student conference will examine the complex entanglements between human and non-human, subject and object or even object and object, from a variety of perspectives. It will bring together early career literary and cultural studies researchers from a multitude of theoretical backgrounds who are engaged with research concerning materialities. Proposals are welcome from graduate students across UBC.
