Dr. Karin Filipsson publishes “Writing Life in an Era of Post-Truth: Autofictionalization in Jonas Hassen Khemiri’s Novels Systrarna and Pappaklausulen” in Scandinavian Studies 98/2.
The article investigates Swedish author Jonas Hassen Khemiri’s novels Systrarna and Pappaklausulen in in relation to ‘autofictionalization’, as defined by Claus Elholm Andersen. The article argues that Khemiri’s most recent novels indicate an attempt to move away from being positioned as a post-migrant author through narrative and linguistic strategies, such as blending the boundaries between fiction and autobiography and performative biographism.
The article suggests that Khemiri’s novels convey an intention to shift the discussion away from racialized categories of authorship and argue for the salience of other categories of analysis.
