The Danish word “hygge” is all about embracing coziness and the little comforts in life.

On January 17th Ann-Kathrine Havemose, Lecturer in Danish and Nordic Studies, spoke with Stephen Quinn on an episode of ‘The Early Edition’ to talk about the Danish word “hygge“.

The word hygge is, yes, about embracing coziness and the little comforts in life, but as Denmark’s official website puts it, as well as “about taking time away from the daily rush to be together with people you care about – or even by yourself – to relax and enjoy life’s quieter pleasures”.
