On March 1, the UBC Scandinavian and Nordic Students’ Association (SNSA) hosted a talk with Bill Arnott, author of Gone Viking: A Travel Saga and Gone Viking II: Beyond Boundaries.

The event, which took place alongside the weekly Fika hosted by the SNSA and the Nordic Program in the Department of Central, Eastern and Northern European Studies, included a slideshow of Bill’s journey around the Nordic region, as well as readings from his novel. It was a pleasure to host Bill at the CENES Department and to hear about the adventures that led him to writing his novel.

In the future, the SNSA and the CENES Department hope to host more special guest events where UBC students can hear more stories from around the world.
