Violent Space: The Jewish Ghetto in Warsaw (release date in November 2023) is based on Dr. Anja Nowak’s dissertation research in Germanic Studies at UBC.

Dr. Malakaj awarded a Humboldt Research Fellowship
Dr. Ervin Malakaj was awarded a research fellowship for experienced researchers to write a book on queer media engagement.
Dr. Malakaj awarded Canada Council for the Arts grant to write book on queer Bosnian diaspora
The award will fund a research trip on which Dr. Malakaj will retrace his refugee and migration journey from his hometown in Bosnia and Herzegovina to Canada.
